Not happy with your training?

I come in contact with many individuals that are not happy with the type of training they receive.

 “I felt like I was on a runaway horse” - “I knew that I should be doing something, but nothing seemed to work” – “I thought that I was doing OK, It was a shock when he told me I’d failed.”

The comments above are repeated every week when people call me for help. But it needn't be like that! The good news is that with a different approach to training you can pass ... And enjoy the experience!

If you are lucky enough to have one of the best trainers but still fail, it’s probable that the training is not right for you personally and so a change is needed. Having said this, being inexperienced yourself, the only guide you have to help you to judge the quality of your training is the way you feel.

Did you always look forward to training sessions? Do you feel in control in role-play situations?

Are you positive and confident about your exam? Do you feel that you have received 100% value for money? Could you give a satisfactory briefing on every subject with confidence?

If the answer to any of the questions above is “NO”, then your training has omitted something that is obviously necessary for your success ...

No matter how hard you work with the skills that you have gained you are unlikely to pass without further help ... Especially if you have failed more than once.

So where do you turn for support and assistance for your next Part 3 attempt?

If you enjoy driver training and get on well with people, you can pass Part 3 without that sinking feeling that you may have grown used to ...

It's possible that you have been handicapped by your training - something that I sympathise with and that I can help to put right.

You may be aware that following an unsuccessful first or second attempt at Part 3 you must take an additional five hours' training. I can supply all documentation required to present at your next attempt, you don't have to get this from your current trainer or training establishment.

The truth is that despite any negative and upsetting experience you might have had, Part 3 is fairly straightforward and relatively easy to pass when you have the requisite skill.

Many of the trainers in the ADI business are not Grade 6 instructors, in fact some qualified as instructors less than a year ago! Many trainers, possibly the majority, do not hold additional training qualifications such as a Diploma in Driving Instruction for Part 1, DSA Cardington ‘A’ grade Special Test for Part 2 and ORDIT registered for Part 3. I have all of these qualifications.
